Lost or Gained in Translation? The Future of Localization Industry – I absolutely loved every minute of that conference and its honest insight into what the industry is like now and where it is heading.

There was no shortage of topics: AI, copyright, reception research... Some old hands showed up to serve as gatekeepers in the shifiting landscape, but the event aimed to expand the discussion and be more than just an academic meet-up. Even the Vice-President of Localization for Dreamworks made a presence to talk about brand integrity and trust (and to give a rather groundbreaking announcement!).

Conclusion? Localization experts and research are more needed than ever.

** *   So happy to hear that Acid City and If Pigeons Turned to Gold I translated for the 66th Krakow Film Festival won  the International Short Film Competition, the Silver Horn for a Film Highlighting Social Issues, and the Student Jury Award.

Remember: The author's voice matters equally in translation, and its recreation is best entrusted to humans  ** *
